ARNO Werkzeuge is expanding its product range. With new, fully sintered indexable inserts, the tool manufacturer presents an economical solution for thread turning. The sintered CP geometry has very good chip breaking properties, enabling users to achieve long tool life and the best results at very low cost when producing external and internal threads. With a geometry for better chip breaking and the full profile of the indexable inserts, burr-free threads are produced that require no reworking. The new tools cover a wide range of applications and are available for all thread types, pitches and dimensions.

"Cost-effectiveness is all the more important when it comes to the simple production of standard threads that do not meet the highest quality requirements," emphasises Product Manager Marco Staiger from ARNO Werkzeuge. The tool manufacturer has developed new indexable inserts for precisely these applications. The new AP3815 and AP3925 grades as well as the CP (completely pressed) geometry are fully sintered indexable inserts for a wide range of applications and for a variety of steels. Because the tools are attractively priced, users achieve an economical solution.

More economical at a good price and without reworking

The new indexable inserts are suitable for producing all thread types such as internal or external threads, trapezoidal or round threads, Whitworth or conical pipe threads and other types. With the appropriate clamping holders, boring bars, indexable inserts and shims, they can be used universally on all clamping holders and are suitable for machining almost all steels. The two grades AP3815 and AP3925 are particularly suitable for machining steels from the ISO P range. However, they also exhibit good properties when machining stainless steels and cast iron from the ISO M and K range. All grades promise a long tool life. With a golden TiN top coating, users of the AP3815 grade can recognise early on when the insert is worn.

The CP geometry inserts with three cutting edges are particularly impressive when it comes to chip breaking. Thanks to the pressed geometry of the indexable insert, they achieve significantly better chip breaking. Because they are designed as a solid profile, correct formation of the thread form is guaranteed without the thread profile having to be reworked or deburred. In addition to the attractive price, this also contributes to good efficiency when turning threads.
